Over an astonishing 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds, Nigerian fashion designer Oluwaseun Kuforiji broke the Guinness World Record for the longest hand-sewing marathon.
It was a moment filled with emotion, exhaustion, and triumph. Kuforiji didn’t just set a record; he captured the hearts and imaginations of countless Nigerians and Africans.
He poured his heart and soul into meticulously crafting 22 unique garments by hand.

The vibrant city of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, came alive as it witnessed this remarkable event, branded a “sew-a-thon.”
Family, friends, and fans cheered him on, providing emotional fuel as Kuforiji, undeterred by fatigue, completed an exquisite Agbada in just six hours and went on to create 18 more beautiful outfits.
For Oluwaseun, this record was about much more than personal achievement.
“This is more than just a record; it’s a journey about believing deeply in your abilities and the magic that happens when you persist,” he reflected emotionally.

Through his extraordinary accomplishment, Kuforiji hopes to inspire others to embrace their dreams and to trust the beauty of their craft.
