6 Nigerian Startups selected for the 2025 Google for Startups Accelerator Africa

Six innovative Nigerian startups have been selected for the 2025 Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa. The new Class 9 cohort, unveiled on Tuesday, showcases 15 AI-powered ventures from seven African countries, with Nigeria’s representatives solving real-world challenges in fintech, healthtech, logistics, and software development.

With nearly 1,500 applications across the continent, the selected startups emerged through a highly competitive process. They will now participate in a three-month hybrid accelerator program running from June 23 to August 22, 2025.

“African startups are at the forefront of solving critical challenges, and their work with AI is truly transformative,” said Folarin Aiyegbusi, Google’s Head of Startup Ecosystem, Africa. “We’re proud to support founders building for impact and inclusivity across the continent.”

Meet the 6 Nigerian Startups

  1. E-doc Online
    A compliance and credit intelligence platform leveraging real-time banking data to simplify onboarding and lending.
  2. GoNomad
    Enables African businesses and freelancers to receive international payments and operate globally like local entities.
  3. Midddleman
    Simplifies cross-border sourcing and payments for African businesses importing from China.
  4. Myltura
    A digital health platform using AI for remote care, access to testing, and integrated healthcare data services.
  5. Pastel
    Provides AI-driven enterprise tools to financial institutions, including fraud detection and anti-money laundering solutions.
  6. Scandium
    Offers AI-powered quality assurance tools for software development, reducing bugs and speeding up delivery.

What the program offers

These startups will benefit from:

  • Up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits
  • Technical mentorship from Google engineers and AI experts
  • Access to global investors and strategic partners
  • Support in product leadership, business development, and market expansion

A continental impact

Other participants in the 2025 cohort include startups from Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, and Ethiopia. These ventures are using AI to drive innovation in agriculture, healthcare, logistics, and software, reflecting a growing trend toward responsible AI development rooted in local context.

Since its inception in 2018, Google’s accelerator program has supported 153 startups from 17 African countries, helping them raise over $300 million in funding and creating over 3,500 jobs. Google has also committed $5 million in equity-free funding and product credits to empower Africa’s startup ecosystem.
